Whenever a magnet link wont download/open for me in qB, I simply right click the magnet link icon & select 'Copy Link Location' then go into qB & manually 'Add Torrent Link' (Ctrl+Shift+O in qB or from the 'File' dropdown menu) and then click 'Download' & if it's NOT dead the Metadata loads as normal. Turn off proxy, wait for metadata to download, turn on proxy and it keeps downloads. This is using docker inside a FreeNAS VM of RancherOS. The proxy used is privateinternetaccess.
